A good fit for

This hub or dock suits laptops short on ports and desk setups running several peripherals.

How to think about it

A hub shares one connection between several devices, so total bandwidth is finite. What the host laptop supports sets the ceiling, not the hub. Against the other 266 hubs and docks we list, this one sits towards the upper end of the range at R9 990, with most falling between R319 and R16 514.

What to confirm

• If this is replacing something you already own, check the two are actually compatible rather than assuming.
• Display output over a hub depends on what the host machine supports, not only on the hub itself.
• Confirm the variant matches the one you need; near-identical model codes often differ in one specification that matters.
• Look at the specification you will still care about in two years, not only the one that matters this week.
• Check the exact model and variant against what you own before ordering, as compatibility is usually model-specific.
