Who it suits

It is usually bought for people who want upgradeable hardware and home offices with room for a tower.

Background

Desktops give you more performance per rand than laptops and stay upgradeable for years, at the cost of being fixed to one place. For anyone who works at the same desk daily, that is usually the right trade. Against the other 1325 desktop PCs we list, this one sits towards the affordable end of the range at R9 845, with most falling between R2 678 and R41 030.

Points to check

• Confirm which display outputs are available so it matches the monitors you already own.
• Compare this against the other options in the range before deciding, since the closest alternative is often a better fit.
• Check the case size against the space you have, and whether the parts you might add later will fit.
• If you are unsure whether this suits your setup, ask us before ordering rather than after.
• Look at the specification you will still care about in two years, not only the one that matters this week.
