Seagate 20TB LaCie 2big Dock Professional Dual-Disk Hardware Raid is a hub or dock that we supply to South African customers ordering online. It combines 20TB of storage.

At a glance

• Storage: 20TB
• Brand: Seagate
• Model / MPN: STLG20000400
• Condition: New

Who it suits

It is usually bought for desk setups running several peripherals and laptops short on ports.

Background

A hub shares one connection between several devices, so total bandwidth is finite. What the host laptop supports sets the ceiling, not the hub. Against the other 266 hubs and docks we list, this one sits towards the upper end of the range at R26 230, with most falling between R319 and R16 514.

Points to check

• Check what is included in the box, as bundled cables and adapters vary between models and regions.
• Display output over a hub depends on what the host machine supports, not only on the hub itself.
• Compare this against the other options in the range before deciding, since the closest alternative is often a better fit.
• Check which ports you actually need and whether the hub supports pass-through charging.
• Confirm the variant matches the one you need; near-identical model codes often differ in one specification that matters.
