Background

A phone is the device most people replace least often and use most, so the specification that matters is the one you will still be happy with in two or three years — storage and battery far more than headline processor speed. Against the other 407 smartphones we list, this one sits around the middle of the range at R14 616, with most falling between R249 and R23 389.

Points to check

• Check what is included in the box, as bundled cables and adapters vary between models and regions.
• Battery capacity matters more than headline speed for most people. A phone that lasts the day beats one that benchmarks well.
• If this is replacing something you already own, check the two are actually compatible rather than assuming.
