Who this is for

It is a sensible fit for people who need a portable main machine and work and study.

Some context

A laptop is a set of compromises between speed, battery life, weight and screen size. There is no configuration that wins on all four, so the useful question is which of them you are willing to give up. Against the other 4139 laptops we list, this one sits towards the upper end of the range at R28 131, with most falling between R3 609 and R41 862.

Worth checking

• If you are unsure whether this suits your setup, ask us before ordering rather than after.
• Look at the specification you will still care about in two years, not only the one that matters this week.
• Screen size drives portability more than weight does. A 16-inch machine is a desk machine in practice.
