Most customers choosing this are after people upgrading from an older handset and anyone who wants current hardware without a contract.

Worth knowing

A phone is the device most people replace least often and use most, so the specification that matters is the one you will still be happy with in two or three years — storage and battery far more than headline processor speed. Against the other 407 smartphones we list, this one sits around the middle of the range at R4 745, with most falling between R249 and R23 389.

Before you order

• Confirm the variant matches the one you need; near-identical model codes often differ in one specification that matters.
• If you are moving from another phone, check what transfer tools the manufacturer provides so setup is not a manual job.
• If this is replacing something you already own, check the two are actually compatible rather than assuming.
• Read the specification rather than the headline — the number in the title is rarely the one that decides the fit.
• Check the storage size against how you actually use a phone — photos and video fill a handset far faster than apps do.
