A good fit for

This tablet suits students and mobile work and households that want a shared screen.

How to think about it

Tablets sit between a phone and a laptop, and which side they lean towards depends almost entirely on what you attach to them. A keyboard or stylus changes the device more than any internal specification does. Against the other 239 tablets we list, this one sits towards the affordable end of the range at R12 146, with most falling between R7 435 and R37 216.

What to confirm

• Storage cannot usually be expanded on tablets, so buy for where you expect to be in two years.
• Decide between Wi-Fi and cellular before ordering — adding mobile data later means buying a different unit.
• Where a listing offers several configurations, the difference is usually memory or storage rather than the core hardware.
