A good fit for

This smartphone suits anyone who wants current hardware without a contract and daily personal use.

How to think about it

A phone is the device most people replace least often and use most, so the specification that matters is the one you will still be happy with in two or three years — storage and battery far more than headline processor speed. Against the other 407 smartphones we list, this one sits around the middle of the range at R9 446, with most falling between R249 and R23 389.

What to confirm

• Read the specification rather than the headline — the number in the title is rarely the one that decides the fit.
• Look at the specification you will still care about in two years, not only the one that matters this week.
• Check the exact model and variant against what you own before ordering, as compatibility is usually model-specific.
