A good fit for

This laptop suits anyone replacing an ageing laptop and work and study.

How to think about it

A laptop is a set of compromises between speed, battery life, weight and screen size. There is no configuration that wins on all four, so the useful question is which of them you are willing to give up. Against the other 4139 laptops we list, this one sits towards the affordable end of the range at R9 899, with most falling between R3 609 and R41 862.

What to confirm

• Confirm the variant matches the one you need; near-identical model codes often differ in one specification that matters.
• Memory is the specification most people under-buy. It is also the hardest to change later on thin machines where it is soldered.
• If you are unsure whether this suits your setup, ask us before ordering rather than after.
