Who it suits

It is usually bought for households that print occasionally and home offices and small businesses.

Background

Running cost matters more than purchase price on printers. The cartridge or toner economics over a few years usually dwarf the difference between two models on the shelf. Against the other 1656 printers we list, this one sits towards the upper end of the range at R13 438, with most falling between R1 244 and R22 382.

Points to check

• If you are unsure whether this suits your setup, ask us before ordering rather than after.
• Check the exact model and variant against what you own before ordering, as compatibility is usually model-specific.
• Look at the specification you will still care about in two years, not only the one that matters this week.
• Check what is included in the box, as bundled cables and adapters vary between models and regions.
• Confirm the variant matches the one you need; near-identical model codes often differ in one specification that matters.
