Who this is for

It is a sensible fit for work and study and anyone replacing an ageing laptop.

Some context

A laptop is a set of compromises between speed, battery life, weight and screen size. There is no configuration that wins on all four, so the useful question is which of them you are willing to give up. Against the other 4139 laptops we list, this one sits towards the upper end of the range at R31 211, with most falling between R3 609 and R41 862.

Worth checking

• Where a listing offers several configurations, the difference is usually memory or storage rather than the core hardware.
• Memory is the specification most people under-buy. It is also the hardest to change later on thin machines where it is soldered.
• Match the processor to the work: light office and browsing needs far less than video editing or compiling.
