A good fit for

This hub or dock suits laptops short on ports and desk setups running several peripherals.

How to think about it

A hub shares one connection between several devices, so total bandwidth is finite. What the host laptop supports sets the ceiling, not the hub. Against the other 266 hubs and docks we list, this one sits towards the upper end of the range at R10 398, with most falling between R319 and R16 514.

What to confirm

• Check what is included in the box, as bundled cables and adapters vary between models and regions.
• Check the exact model and variant against what you own before ordering, as compatibility is usually model-specific.
• If this is replacing something you already own, check the two are actually compatible rather than assuming.
• Read the specification rather than the headline — the number in the title is rarely the one that decides the fit.
• Look at the specification you will still care about in two years, not only the one that matters this week.
