ATEN 2-Port USB 3.0 DisplayPort KVMP Switch (CS1912)

The ATEN 2-Port USB 3.0 DisplayPort KVMP is a hub or dock, supplied in South Africa by ElectroGuy.

Key specifications

• Brand: Aten
• Model / MPN: CS1912
• Condition: New

Who it suits

It is usually bought for desk setups running several peripherals and laptops short on ports.

Background

A hub shares one connection between several devices, so total bandwidth is finite. What the host laptop supports sets the ceiling, not the hub. Against the other 266 hubs and docks we list, this one sits around the middle of the range at R4 285, with most falling between R319 and R16 514.

Points to check

• Display output over a hub depends on what the host machine supports, not only on the hub itself.
• Check the exact model and variant against what you own before ordering, as compatibility is usually model-specific.
• Read the specification rather than the headline — the number in the title is rarely the one that decides the fit.
• If you are unsure whether this suits your setup, ask us before ordering rather than after.
• Confirm the variant matches the one you need; near-identical model codes often differ in one specification that matters.
