A good fit for

This smartphone suits anyone who wants current hardware without a contract and daily personal use.

How to think about it

A phone is the device most people replace least often and use most, so the specification that matters is the one you will still be happy with in two or three years — storage and battery far more than headline processor speed. Against the other 407 smartphones we list, this one sits around the middle of the range at R4 175, with most falling between R249 and R23 389.

What to confirm

• Compare this against the other options in the range before deciding, since the closest alternative is often a better fit.
• Confirm the model supports the network bands you use before ordering, particularly if you move between providers.
• Confirm the variant matches the one you need; near-identical model codes often differ in one specification that matters.
