A good fit for

This laptop suits work and study and people who need a portable main machine.

How to think about it

A laptop is a set of compromises between speed, battery life, weight and screen size. There is no configuration that wins on all four, so the useful question is which of them you are willing to give up. Against the other 4139 laptops we list, this one sits towards the upper end of the range at R37 586, with most falling between R3 609 and R41 862.

What to confirm

• Check the exact model and variant against what you own before ordering, as compatibility is usually model-specific.
• Match the processor to the work: light office and browsing needs far less than video editing or compiling.
• Look at the specification you will still care about in two years, not only the one that matters this week.
