A good fit for

This laptop suits people who need a portable main machine and anyone replacing an ageing laptop.

How to think about it

A laptop is a set of compromises between speed, battery life, weight and screen size. There is no configuration that wins on all four, so the useful question is which of them you are willing to give up. Against the other 4139 laptops we list, this one sits towards the upper end of the range at R63 464, with most falling between R3 609 and R41 862.

What to confirm

• If you are unsure whether this suits your setup, ask us before ordering rather than after.
• Compare this against the other options in the range before deciding, since the closest alternative is often a better fit.
• If this is replacing something you already own, check the two are actually compatible rather than assuming.
