Who this is for

It is a sensible fit for anyone replacing an ageing laptop and people who need a portable main machine.

Some context

A laptop is a set of compromises between speed, battery life, weight and screen size. There is no configuration that wins on all four, so the useful question is which of them you are willing to give up. Against the other 4139 laptops we list, this one sits towards the upper end of the range at R36 474, with most falling between R3 609 and R41 862.

Worth checking

• Match the processor to the work: light office and browsing needs far less than video editing or compiling.
• If this is replacing something you already own, check the two are actually compatible rather than assuming.
• If you are unsure whether this suits your setup, ask us before ordering rather than after.
