Who this is for

It is a sensible fit for anyone replacing an ageing laptop and people who need a portable main machine.

Some context

A laptop is a set of compromises between speed, battery life, weight and screen size. There is no configuration that wins on all four, so the useful question is which of them you are willing to give up. Against the other 4139 laptops we list, this one sits towards the upper end of the range at R31 001, with most falling between R3 609 and R41 862.

Worth checking

• Check the exact model and variant against what you own before ordering, as compatibility is usually model-specific.
• Memory is the specification most people under-buy. It is also the hardest to change later on thin machines where it is soldered.
• Check what is included in the box, as bundled cables and adapters vary between models and regions.
