ASUS DC500 Triple 4K Thunderbolt 4 Docking Station (90XB08DN-BDS010)

ASUS DC500 Triple 4K Thunderbolt 4 Docking — a hub or dock, available to order online from ElectroGuy for delivery across South Africa.

What you get

• Brand: Asus
• Model / MPN: 90XB08DN-BDS010
• Condition: New

Who it suits

It is usually bought for desk setups running several peripherals and laptops short on ports.

Background

A hub shares one connection between several devices, so total bandwidth is finite. What the host laptop supports sets the ceiling, not the hub. Against the other 266 hubs and docks we list, this one sits towards the upper end of the range at R5 197, with most falling between R319 and R16 514.

Points to check

• Check which ports you actually need and whether the hub supports pass-through charging.
• Check what is included in the box, as bundled cables and adapters vary between models and regions.
• Read the specification rather than the headline — the number in the title is rarely the one that decides the fit.
• Where a listing offers several configurations, the difference is usually memory or storage rather than the core hardware.
• Compare this against the other options in the range before deciding, since the closest alternative is often a better fit.
