Background

A laptop is a set of compromises between speed, battery life, weight and screen size. There is no configuration that wins on all four, so the useful question is which of them you are willing to give up. Against the other 4139 laptops we list, this one sits around the middle of the range at R17 887, with most falling between R3 609 and R41 862.

Points to check

• Check the port selection against what you actually plug in, and whether you will need a hub on top.
• Check what is included in the box, as bundled cables and adapters vary between models and regions.
• Screen size drives portability more than weight does. A 16-inch machine is a desk machine in practice.
