Who it suits

It is usually bought for households sharing a TV and gaming at home.

Background

A console is a fixed platform, so the practical questions are storage, which titles you want, and whether the household will be sharing it. Against the other 53 games consoles we list, this one sits towards the upper end of the range at R26 936, with most falling between R259 and R25 775.

Points to check

• If this is replacing something you already own, check the two are actually compatible rather than assuming.
• Read the specification rather than the headline — the number in the title is rarely the one that decides the fit.
• Check what is included in the box, as bundled cables and adapters vary between models and regions.
• Check the exact model and variant against what you own before ordering, as compatibility is usually model-specific.
• Compare this against the other options in the range before deciding, since the closest alternative is often a better fit.
